Who we are

Skopeo (“we”, “us”) provides a skills-based hiring platform and the Hiring Readiness Calculator on this website. For the personal data described in this policy, Skopeo is the data controller under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

You can reach us about anything in this policy, including any request to exercise your rights, at aaron@skopeo.ai.

What we collect

When you use the Hiring Readiness Calculator, we collect:

  • Your CV file and the text extracted from it.
  • Your first name and email address.
  • The target track, level, and right-to-work status you select, plus any free-text context you add.
  • The analysis we generate — your readiness score, the summary, strengths, weaknesses, and suggested actions, and the rewritten resume.
  • Limited technical data — your IP address and request timestamps, used for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

Please do not include special category data in your CV or the free-text field — for example information about your health, disability, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or trade union membership. We do not ask for it and do not need it to produce your analysis.

If you request a demo, we also collect the name, work email, role, and company you provide on that form.

How and why we use it

You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew it.

Automated analysis and AI

Your readiness score and rewritten resume are generated automatically by a large language model. We send the text extracted from your CV, together with the options you selected, to OpenAI, which processes it on our behalf and does not use it to train its models. We ask OpenAI not to retain the request.

The score is an informational estimate only. It is not careers advice, it is not a hiring decision, and no employer receives it. It produces no legal or similarly significant effect on you, so it is not a decision based solely on automated processing within the meaning of Article 22 of the UK GDPR. If you would like a person to look at your analysis, email us and we will review it.

AI-generated output can be wrong. The rewritten resume is built only from information in the CV you uploaded, but you should check every detail before relying on it or sending it to an employer.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it for us:

  • Supabase — database and encrypted file storage.
  • OpenAI — generating your analysis and resume.
  • Resend — sending email, where you have opted in.
  • Vercel — website and application hosting.

Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep calculator submissions, including your CV, for 12 months from the date you submit them, after which we delete them. If you ask us to delete your data sooner, we will do so. Security and abuse-prevention logs are kept for a shorter period. We may keep a minimal record of a deletion request so we can show we honoured it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data deleted;
  • restrict or object to how we use it;
  • receive data you gave us in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time.

Email aaron@skopeo.ai and we will respond within one month. You do not have to pay a fee.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to address it first.

Children

This service is intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

Cookies

We use only cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the website and keep signed-in sessions secure. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, so no consent banner is required.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change affecting how we use data you have already given us, we will contact you where we hold your email address.
